Why I love living at Lynwood #1: Prescott’s restaurant, coffee shop and bar.
Prescott’s is great, there are always people to talk to and the food is delicious! The staff are lovely and if you don’t feel like coming down they’ll even deliver your lunch to your apartment. It’s a great place to meet friends for coffee and there are always people there to talk to.
Why I love living at Lynwood #2: the gardens!
We are so lucky to have so much outside space at Lynwood. There are woodland paths, where you can walk your dog or take a stroll, and the paths are flat so they are accessible to wheelchairs and mobility scooters. The gorgeous Rose Garden is particularly beautiful in summer and the bowling and croquet lawns provide opportunities for some sport.

There’s a strong sense of community at Lynwood and moving here is a great way to meet lots of new people. People are very friendly and there’s always something going on and opportunities to join in and get involved, it really does feel like a village.
Why I love living at Lynwood reason #4: feeling safe
Feeling safe is one of the top three things people say they like best about living at Lynwood. There are staff onsite 24 hours a day, seven days a week so there is always someone on hand to help. There are night security staff, emergency pull cords in every home and wearable call buttons, so no matter what happens, help is close by.

What’s really lovely about Lynwood is that the staff get to know every owner by name. The staff are one of the top three things owners say they like best about living at Lynwood. When you pop down to the restaurant for lunch, or down to reception to book a trip out, there are staff to chat to and ask how you are. And if you don’t feel like coming down for lunch, our amazing staff will deliver to your home. It makes a huge difference to people’s day.

Having a physiotherapy practice on your doorstep is a huge plus of Lynwood life. If old injuries play up or new conditions appear that could be helped with physio, our superb team can help. They also run exercise classes designed to improve fitness, mobility and balance – it’s another way living at Lynwood can improve your wellbeing.

From the restaurant, coffee shop and bar, hair and beauty salon, shop, therapy centre, swimming pool, gym, library, arts and crafts room, snooker room, socials, themed evenings, film afternoons and more – everything is on your doorstep at Lynwood. It might be pouring outside but you can access everything via covered (and beautifully furnished) walkways and you can socialise without having to travel.

It’s easy to make new friends and find company at Lynwood and there is always something going on! Someone’s birthday or anniversary, or a social gathering. Because everyone is at the same life stage, there are lots of shared experiences and people support each other. You’re only alone when you choose to be. If people need a little help to stay living independently in their own home, Lynwood’s wonderful Care and Support team can step in. Based in the village and staffed by our own employees, you won’t need to call around trying to find support, simply call reception and they’ll pop round and see you.
Why I love living at Lynwood #10: Activities
There’s always something to do at Lynwood. As well as the superb facilities which include a swimming pool, gym, library, arts and crafts room, bowling green and croquet lawn, you can take exercise classes in the gym, therapy centre or pool, join trips out and about to shops and places of interest, join clubs, socials and committees: you don’t ever need to be bored while living at Lynwood. Each week a list of activities and excursions will drop through your door and our private minibus is on hand to take you out and about.
