Anyone for croquet? We’re practising our putting here at Lynwood Village, polishing our croquet skills and enjoying some good-natured competition. If you’re looking for a more laid back option you could try bridge club or join the residents’ choir, which recently gave a wonderful concert that included music written by one of its members. It’s great to see residents organising their own activities as well as enjoying those put on by the activities team; it really shows what a vibrant, friendly community we have here.
Getting out and about
As well as events and activities within the village, we get out and about a lot too. So far this year we’ve been to the Lookout in Bracknell, visited Runnymede, the Poppy Factory and the Milestones living museum, to name just a few! Coworth Park Country House hotel is one of our favourite places to go. They organise lovely events with a speaker followed by a delicious lunch. We recently took a table of ten to a talk by Princess Michael of Kent, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. We’re going back to Coworth Park for one of our ‘Ramble and Ambles’, which is when we visit a place of interest for a guided tour, usually followed by tea and cake. This time it’s a tour by one of their gardeners followed by lunch at The Barn restaurant. We’re also looking forward to a trip to the lavender fields in Hampshire in July, which will be followed by a cream tea. Residents purchase tickets for these kind of events from our friendly concierge team, who are always on hand to help.
Day to day excursions
On a more practical level, each week we run regular shopping trips to M&S and Waitrose and we also go further afield to Windsor, John Lewis in High Wycombe, the Meadows Shopping Centre in Camberley, local garden centres and farm shops. Our private minibus means residents can sit back and relax, without worrying about driving or parking, just enjoying the company of friends. Residents can request new destinations, we’re always open to ideas!
It’s a very happy and friendly community here at Lynwood Village. The events and activities create opportunities to strengthen friendships, learn new skills, get fit or spend time with family. It’s entirely up to you how much or how little you do but it’s all here on your doorstep!
