We’ve enjoyed some super events here at Lynwood Village recently. Sometimes residents organise their own events, like the official opening of our new bowling green, where friends from local bowls clubs joined residents to celebrate this new facility and enjoy some healthy competition. A big thank you to the organisers for making this such a success!
Other events are organised by our wellbeing team who recently arranged for some feathered friends to join us on the croquet lawn. Many of us enjoyed getting up close to these amazing birds of prey who we usually only see or hear fleetingly in the woodland surrounding the village.
To celebrate the seasonal reopening of our croquet lawn we invited local community groups and residents to come and learn more about this ancient game. Brigadier Michael Hague from Woking Lawn Tennis and Croquet was our guest of honour; he kindly explained the game and showed us how it was done and then the residents competed against our guests to try their newly learned techniques. It was close but it ended in a draw! We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed a fantastic afternoon tea together afterwards in our restaurant, Prescott’s.
It’s entirely up to you how much or how little you choose to do when you live at Lynwood Village. You can come to every event, or just choose the ones that appeal most. What’s important is that it’s all happening on your doorstep, it’s easy for everyone to access and you’re bound to bump into a friend or two.
